SOME OF MY THOUGHTS ON UX
DEFINING PROBLEMS
Defining problem is the beginning of all projects. Without properly and accurately defined problems (possibly with measurable indicators), there would be very little chance to make your project a success. Ultimately, the well-defined problem is the north star that helps everyone in the project go through their journey collectively.
VALIDATING IDEAS
We, UX practitioners come up with ideas and hypothesis based on data and research. We cannot give answers but best solutions. Hence, validating them is necessary. It helps you discover blind spots and meaningful findings in the most economical way of making your product success. Because once it fails, it will cost more to recover.
SETTING PRIOIRITIES
During any project, you have to make a series of decisions. Sometimes decisions are informed by hard data. However, many other times you have to rely on soft factors and your previous experience. In this situation, setting priorities help you decide where to spend your limited resources.
HUMAN-CENTRED APPROACH
Sometimes we come across projects that are heavily influenced by ego or political forces. However, UX should not lead by a person’s taste, but continuous rendezvous with users. I have a firm belief that a good product starts with a serious interest in people at all stages of the design process.
