Overview

RunTrack is a web application, which creates unique music tracks based on Nike Plus running data (speed, distance, turns) and evironmental parameters (weather, time of the day). After the users create music tracks by selecting a previous run and a DJ, they can listen to the music and they can see what data have affected on the music via RunTrack music player.

Project Background

Every season Nike Running offers their runners a unique experience as a bonus. Before Run Track, I involved in creating Re-Run experience, which translates, the fastest mile from the runners Nike Plus data into a collaged short video. The video includes actual running route of Google Street View and Map, animation, and values from the fastest mile data. The project launched in 46 countries and 245,000 Re-Run Videos were created with over 9.14 million impressions on various SNS. Regardless, the enormous success of Re-Run, rather than updating the Re-Run, we wanted to go further for the next campaign. So, we looked into different ways of turning the data into something more creative, tangible and ultimately can help runner’s experience.
